Port Carling Towing

Port Carling sits on Muskoka Road 118 between Bracebridge and the west lakes, and it funnels most of the traffic moving between Lake Muskoka and Lake Rosseau. In summer the village is congested, parking around the locks fills up, and a stalled vehicle on the bridge approach blocks the only practical route through.

Outside the village, roads narrow quickly. The routes toward Minett, Foot's Bay and Windermere are winding two-lane roads with soft shoulders and rock on one side, which is where most winch-out calls in this area come from.
